It's a great time to do some reality checking and fact finding.

How are veterans being treated by our government?
How are our soldiers being treated by our government?
Is it true about the pentagon's database and the high school recruitment list?

Oh, I could go on and on.

Happy Veteran's Day

Mmm, Cindy Sheehan's cheering section, the VfP. You'll not find any consensus about how veterans are treated, and how soldiers are treated, and much of the blame for the problems you do find goes back to previous administrations and Congresses past.

As for the database thing, that's been tossed about here forever. The fact is the armed forces are finally just now getting the same information college recruiters have had the benefit of for years. Personally, I like the idea of my daughter's info laying around in the Pentagon's database a hell of a lot better than than dozens of University databases with no obligation to keep it secure.

Go on and on all you like, it should be easy given you never, ever make real arguments; you just ask leading questions and the flit off to make another such post when you are challenged.

Hmm, I am not supposed to ask leading questions?
I am short on time, but I'll get the hang of it here.

These recent vets are from this government, no other.

This is NOT the governments problem. It has been proven over and over again the 98% of the time being homeless is a personal thing. After you've been discharged your housing is on you not the government. They make no promises about housing you after being discharged. Now why don't you come up with something concrete. Like how is the government is not taking care of the vets healthwise.

Let's see, the VA covered 100% of my Paramedic and Health Sciences Associate Degrees; All my paramedic National Registry testing; My Search & Rescue training... and a living allowing and full medical on campus medical insurance. So as a veteran I have nothing against the VA itself.

On the other hand, as patient of the VA system, I can't think of any reason why vets wouldn't be better off if the medical arm of the VA were disbanded (except the research parts) and us vets were merely given insurance to see the doctors of our choice.

As a former employee of the VA medical system, I can tell you that I've found few places where vets were talked about behind their backs with less respect.

If you ask me, if there have truly been cuts (for some reason the VA denies that these cuts have occured), I don't feel slighted, I feel like the bloated farce of a beauracracy is getting exactly what it deserves.
