“If there was ever a time in history to impeach a President of the United States, it would be now. In my opinion, it is two years too late … Shouldn't war be an absolute last resort? We went to war because we were misled. And we should be angry because of the 2,000 American soldiers and the 200 armed coalition forces that have died. We should be livid because of the 15,000 American soldiers that have been horribly maimed and wounded. We should be disgusted because of the 30,000 innocent Iraqi civilians that have been killed and the 20,000 that are wounded after administration officials claimed that the US was going to liberate the Iraqi people. When does it stop? It stops with the indictment and impeachment of this corrupt, power-hungry, greedy group of incompetent leaders. How many more have to die before this happens?”
- Barbara Streisand

A quotation for a quotation.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things.
The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling
which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.
The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight,
nothing which is more important than his own personal safety,
is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless
made so and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
-John Stuart Mill- (1806-1873)

Take her easy, man...........

Oh yes, and he hasn't broken a law. Kind of hard to have a president in an impeachment trial for not breaking the law. Why does he get all the blame, anyways? If America really wants to stop the war, why not have Congress vote it to an end?

You've still failed to lay down the legal justification for impeachment or criminal investigation. Despite what you may want to believe, the Iraq war, while I disagree with it, was executed completely in accordance with US law and regulations.

You posted before about how it was just so obvious how laws were broken and such but never came back and backed up your statements with proof. And saying "It's just obvious! You must be wearing blinders!" is not proof or anything close to it. The rules of debating state that if you make a statement of fact, the burden of proof lies with YOU. Failure to provide proof shows that your argument is either completely false, or you are just parroting what others say without engaging in any critical thought of your own.

better men than himself

as far as Barbra goes... She is just another Hollywood star looking for a little press. I seriously doubt that she gives much concern for the people of Iraq while she is sitting in her million dollar mansion. But hey, stick a camera in front of her face and get her publicist behind her to pull the string and away the words fly.

Sorry, a Hollywood star has no credit with me. Anybody can make a statement. A real hero makes a difference.

Oh, and BTW, throwing up a quote with no other commentary than "Impeach" makes you look like just as much of a glory hound as she is.

Hmmmm, based on the amount of legal justification you have laid out for the impeachment of GW, we could then reason that Barbra's pathetic musical ability is enough to lock her up. (after all MY opinion should carry as much weight as some over-hyped ex-hollywood star!)

I'd say 12 years of sanctions and deceptions was long enough. Please show us how wer were misled also.

You just got down crying on another blog about why the Conservatives seem to rally around the president and berate the liberals at the same time, and then you go and prove my point that I made in response to you.

You cant teach an old liberal dog new tricks.

The House has the power to bring a bill of impeachment and the Senate tries the President on those charges. The Constitution says "High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

For example, the President takes an oath to uphold the laws and Constitution of the United States. There are examples where Bush has failed to uphold our laws. Border security and immigration. Employing illegeas are just two.

The only problem I have is that would give us Cheney!

That shows the simple mind here. Border security has been a problem for decades, were you crying about it in the 90's col?

As usual we ask for proof of crimes, and here people like you come up with stupid answers like this. Thanks again col.

Island Dog.

What about sending our troops into battle without the proper equipment, with too few forces to accomplich the mission properly and twisting the facts about going to war in the first place.

Nope.  He has not hired any illegals, or allowed one illegal to cross the border.  Wrong again.  But consistently so.

No matter how much or how little "proper equipment" the troops had you would still complain. Please prove how this is criminal.

with too few forces to accomplich the mission properly

Once again col, it's your opinion. Not a criminal charge.

and twisting the facts about going to war in the first place.

Col, there was no lies or fact twisting. Just get over that there was no lies.

I asked for proof and once again you can't provide it. How about a fact col, how many times has your books been on the Amazon best seller list?

No not my opinion but that of the Army CoS, Gen Franks and just about all the other senior generals admit the force levels were far too small. That has caused more American deaths then if Bush had allowed the people with the experience to conduct the war. The lack of Body Armor and armored equipment is another example. The lack of troops allowed the terrorists to freely use the explosives in the Amo dumps to kill our troops. We did not control the borders that allowed foreign terrorists to help kill Americans. ALL because of the choices Bush made!

And that is still not criminal col. All your other rants and accusations are just as meaningless. I asked for proof and you still have no provided it.
