Sure, we should let them know how we feel. I'm only curious as to what exactly do you mean by this? It seems that you, somehow, know exactly what everyone is thinking and that everyone is thinking alike. That is the impression I got from the first line on this article.

I didn't read everything since I don't have a lot of time for it at the moment, but I am interested in what do you mean by pre-emptive strikes. Do you mean we should wait for someone to do something wrong before we do something about it? If by avoiding a pre-emptive strike you mean if we have intelligence (that could be faulty) of some kind of criminal activity going on in, say Iran, that we should not try to stop it but instead allow it to happen so that then we can have a legit excuse to do something about it and avoid making a possible mistake of not finding what we are looking for?

I'm asking only to understand what your point is cause I don't understand. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I would appreciate a little more info on your point of view.

Well, no, actually. I would very much love for everyone to get more involved in their government. We have more power than we realize.
And contacting your rep[resentatives to let them know how you feel about such important things is sure one way to be involved.

My feelings on it are to not trust this particular government to make the decision about pre-emptive strikes.
What's yours?

I agree and have always said that we, the American people, are the ones with the real power. To bad most Americans are Uneducated when it comes to politics. I may not now much about politics, but I have an understanding and I know that I have more power over Bush than he does over me because it was me (By me I mean everyone), the voter who put him there and it is me who can remove him.

I also agree, but keep in mind that there will be people from both sides. Those who are in favor of Bush and those who disagree. You sound like everyone disagrees or only those who disagree should talk to their reps and express their feelings. See where I'm getting at?

I am not too happy with how Bush is doing things. But the way I see it, many Americans have become educated over night about the many many things they did not know could go on in our own Gov't. Not everything Bush has done is bad, but everything has opened the eyes of a lot of people to what goes on in the Gov't and make many people more active and pay more attention.

Pre-emptive strikes are like cooking with new ingredients, you never really know exactly what will happen, unless you give it a try. But it helps to be more sure of getting good results than bad ones. I, personally, would rather hit the enemy first before they get a chance to do anything to us, but no one is perfect and there's always that chance of there not being anything wrong and we would have seemed to attack for nothing, I say better safe than sorry.

Example: No one really knew if Saddam had WMD, not even the UN. Saddam did everything he could to give them the run around and not allow them to search specific places that they should have been allowed to according to the rules. How could you not have suspicions of him doing something wrong when he refused to cooperate over and over. All he had to do is show proof of their destruction, but as far as I know, there have been none. So where are the rest of the Bio and Chemical weapons he had before? And knowing what kind of person Saddam is how could we be sure he would not use them against us in the future directly or thru a terror network? The way I see it, we will never know if he would have done something, but we do know he wont anymore and that makes me feel safer. But that's JMO.
