And America might be waking up even more.

How dare you look into the camera time after time telling us that the terrorists are out to get us, and then not expect us to react to your ports deal the way we did.

How dare you insult our intelligence, yet again, by thinking we would just overlook the many facts concerning this deal.

And haven't "people like you" been praising the ones that rename french fries and french toast, freedom fries and freedom toast?
And haven't "people like you" had plenty to say about the blacks in hurricane Katrina?

And by the way, your lack of intelligence is showing by saying that Bush did not know.

Please educate yourself on the issue, AsWayOpens, before making yourself look foolish.

The Dubai Ports World deal was never "Bush's" and still, yes - still, has nothing to do with port security. It has done a great job of flushing the hypocrites out into the open, however.

Port security is an important issue and needs discussion, but substituting that issue for the DPW acquisition is simple and crass demagoguery, Democrat & Republican alike.

You guys haven't read anywhere about the relationships between this country and the Bush family?
You haven't read anywhere about Snow?

This is so typical of conservatives that I can't decide if I'm more angry or amused.

was never "Bush's"
True, he wasn't even aware of it.

How dare you look into the camera time after time telling us that the terrorists are out to get us, and then not expect us to react to your ports deal the way we did. Nothing new--Bush is Bush. My main beef is that it is a dramatic example of how blasé we are in allowing but another systemic outsourcing of American business irresponsibility in failing to take on America's dmestic business.

It is time to END all foreign operation of the ports in America. If we approve this deal the next thing should be the Secret Service and the operation of the White House. We should contract this to Iran.

Gene said a funny! Maybe there's hope.

Steve, & nearly everyone else with their knickers in a wad over this, is using "the ol' misdirection play" to divert attention to anything but the issue itself and make it out to be something it's not. It's hard to maintain respect when this appears to be willful.

Oh, & sorry, LW...

I'm thinking we know what the isuue is.
on Feb 27, 2006
lol, how funny, and sadly desperate this all is.

Yep, the Coast Guard thinks so, too.

You know, you're right.

They let terrorists who ultimately took part in the 9/11 atrocities live in their midst unquestioned.

They allowed terrorists to use their banking system to funnel funds in support of the 9/11 plot.

They allowed terrorists to train in the execution of key aspects of the 9/11 plot on their own soil.

So, I've reconsidered & I'm with you. What the hell was George Bush thinking? We should build a fence along the entire length of Florida's land border and make it a crime for anyone to engage in commerce with Florida businesses. You can't be too safe, you know.

You can't be too safe, you know.
Is this "misdirected play"?

And haven't "people like you"

Glad to see the klan is still supporting the democrats.  I thought you were smarter than that, but I guess democrats never leave their roots!

Damn, steve caught me. Well, not exactly.

'Splain to me how the three connections to terrorism most often cited by critics of this deal (use of the banking system, residence, and in-country training) and used to characterize the UAE as untrustworthy, are any different when applied to Florida. And that's a serious request.

despite all their other disdainful excesses, neither jeb bush nor kathryn harris spent much time hunting in afghanistan with bin laden (nor for him, for that matter).

to the best of my knowledge neither jeb nor harris permitted al quaeda use of their private planes.
